Let us all wear this orange t-shirt, the more the better ! It’s the colour of the flame that gives us energy.
This is a unique opportunity to change things – we have three months to communicate what we want/our objectives:
To defend the values of the Olympic charter, the value of peace and the respect of the rights of each individual.
To ask our politicians questions and get them to act, and to defend human rights everywhere in the world through concrete action.
To remind China of the promise it made in 2001 at the time of its nomination for the Olympic Games to be held in China and to improve the human rights situation.
To persuade China to open the dialogue with His Holiness the Dalai Lama on the subject of the autonomy of Tibet. A real dialogue, without conditions.
To thus help the Tibetan people to preserve their culture, their rituals, including their language which has been forbidden in their schools.
We are not talking about supporting a boycott. The Chinese people have the right to be proud of hosting the Olympic Games. It is a question of reminding their political leaders of their commitment.
Indeed, freedom of expression, freedom of the press, to hold meetings, to have opinions and spiritual beliefs are not respected in China.
Some eloquent accounts accompany these pages.
« One world, one dream » is the symbolic message chosen by the Chinese Olympic Committee to accompany the Olympic Games
By wearing orange, our message is to encourage more respect and democracy.
